Jitu Rai on 19 June 2014 became the first Indian to win three medals in successive ISSF Shooting World Cup.

Also, by winning his first-ever Gold medal and One Silver at the ongoing ISSF World Cup in Maribor, Slovenia, he became the first Indian shooter to win two medals at the same World Cup.

He won Gold medal with 200.8 points on 19 June 2014. The Silver medal was won by Spain’s Pablo Carrera and the Bronze medal was won by Russia’s Anton Gourianov.

 He won Silver medal in 50-meter pistol on 16 June 2014. In 50-meter pistol event, the Gold was won by Damir Mikec of Serbia.

Earlier in second week of June 2014, he had won Silver medal in 10-meter air pistol event in ISSF World Cup in Munich, Germany.

Jitu Rai is a Junior Commissioned Officer in Indian Army and was trained at Army’s Marksman Unit. He won his first individual medal, the Silver medal, in 10-meter air pistol event in 2013. Currently he holds 26th place in World Shooting Ranking.
