Nokia Siemens Networks announced on 5 January 2011 that acquired IRIS Telecom, a telecom and engineering services firm headquartered in Istanbul, Turkey. The acquisition will enable Nokia Siemens to combine IRIS Telecom's multi-vendor network planning and optimisation (NPO) business with its global capabilities and thereby create one of the region's leading telecom services players.
Nokia Siemens Networks, the leading services provider to telecom operators has strong network planning and optimization capabilities and delivers over 900 planning and optimization projects per year, including 100 multi-vendor projects.
IRIS, founded in 1999 provides high-quality network planning and optimisation services to telecom operators and equipment vendors in Turkey as well as in the regions of Eastern Europe and Central Asia, and Middle East and Africa.
