The National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC) board on 30 March 2012 approved an investment of over 17000 crore rupees in two power projects in Maharashtra. The projects would have a total generation capacity of 2640 MW.
The NTPC board approved the investment for the Mouda Super Thermal Power Project and Solapur Super Thermal Power Project.
The Mouda Super Thermal Power Project has two units of 660 MW each with an estimated cost not exceeding 7921.47 crore rupees.
The other project — Solapur Super Thermal Power Project — also has the similar generation capacity (2 X 660 MW) with an estimated cost not exceeding 9395.18 crore rupees.
