Former Chairman of Atomic Energy Commission passes away

The former Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission, Srikumar Banerjee passed away at the age of 75. He was also a veteran Nuclear scientist. He suffered a heart attack post recovering from COVID-19. Banerjee led the nuclear establishment during the nuclear deal signed between India and the US.

On-site registration for vaccine permitted for 18-44 age group

The Health Ministry has permitted the walk-in registration for the COVID-19 vaccine for the age group between 18-44 years. The feature has been enabled on CoWIN. However, the feature for on-site registration and appointment will only be available for the Government vaccination centers.

Cyclone Yaas: Deep depression to intensify in the Bay of Bengal

The IMD has informed that the deep depression over the east-central Bay of Bengal will intensify into a severe cyclonic storm. Heavy to very heavy rainfall has been predicted over Andaman & Nicobar due to Cyclone Yaas. Parts of Odisha, Jharkhand, and West Bengal will also receive heavy rainfall.

Haryana has launched ‘Sanjeevani Pariyojana’. It is a supervised homecare initiative to help people in rural areas with mild to moderate symptoms access quick medical care at home. Under the initiative, they will not have to leave their homes as they will get access to medical care.
