Former Rajasthan High Court judge Vinod Shanker Dave was elected president of the Association of Retired Judges of Supreme Court and High Courts national executive at its ninth annual conference in July 2011.
Justice Dave had headed the State Law Commission in 1993 and later the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission. He is currently working as the chairperson of the board of the Jaipur-based Centre for Community Economics and Development Consultants' Society, which hosted the two-day ninth annual conference. The event was dedicated to the theme of climate crisis and the legal fraternity's role in addressing its impacts.
The four new vice-presidents elected include Justice R. G. Sindhakar (Maharashtra), Justice M. R. Calla (Rajasthan), Justice Shailendra Saxena (Uttar Pradesh) and Justice Bhaskar Rao (Andhra Pradesh).
Association secretary-general Justice A. K. Srivastava (Delhi) was been re-elected for another term, while Justice Fakhruddin (Madhya Pradesh) was elected as the treasurer.
