Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi took oath as judicial member of Lokpal. The Lokpal of India is headed by Justice A.M. Khanvilkar administered the oath to him. Justice Ritu Raj previously served as the Chairperson of the 22nd Law Commission of India. He has also been the Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court. Pankaj Kumar and Ajay Tirkey took oath as Lokpal members.   

2. (b) Sharafuddaulah Ibne Shahid

Bangladesh's Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid has recently become the first umpire from Bangladesh to be included in the ICC elite panel of umpires. India's Nitin Menon has joined this panel for the fifth time. Menon remains the only Indian in the 12-member club.

3. (a) Telangana

A 900-year-old Kannada inscription from the Kalyana Chalukya dynasty was found in Jadcherla mandal of Mahabubnagar district of Telangana. Archaeologist and CEO of Plech India Foundation E. Shivanagi Reddy said that this inscription was found during the campaign 'Preserve heritage for future generations'.  

4. (b) Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad has broken the record of the biggest team total in IPL history. Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 277/3 runs in 20 overs against Mumbai Indians, which is the highest team total till date. Earlier, RCB had scored 263/5 against Pune Warriors India in the year 2013.       

5. (a) Justice Mohammad Yusuf Wani

Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court, Justice N. Kotiswar Singh administered the oath to Justice Mohammad Yusuf Wani as Additional Judge. With this, the number of judges in Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh High Court has increased to 16 including the Chief Justice.

6. (a) Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia will participate in the historic Miss Universe event for the first time. Saudi Arabia's Rumy Alqahtani will officially participate in the Miss Universe competition for the first time as the first representative of the Islamic country. Alqahtani has won the title of Miss Middle East and Miss Arab World Peace 2021.

7. (a) Abhay Thakur

Veteran diplomat Abhay Thakur has recently been appointed as India's new Ambassador to Myanmar. Abhay was a key member of the team guiding the talks during India's G20 presidency last year. Abhay is a 1992 batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer and is currently serving in the Ministry of External Affairs.

8. (b) Adani Power Limited

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved 100% acquisition of Lanco Amarkantak Power Limited by Adani Power Limited. Adani Power Limited (Acquirer) is a company of the Adani Group. Lanco Amarkantak is a company associated with thermal power generation. The Competition Commission of India is the main national competition regulator in India.

9. (b) Sadanand Vasant Date

Maharashtra cadre officer Sadanand Vasant Date has been appointed as the chief of the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Piyush Anand has been appointed Director General of NDRF and Rajeev Kumar Sharma has been appointed Director General of Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPRD).

10. (a) Harivansh Narayan Singh

Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh participated in the 148th meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, IPU, in Geneva, Switzerland. He led the Indian parliamentary delegation. The Inter-Parliamentary Union is an international organisation of national parliaments that was founded in 1889.
