The 2009 Ashes Series was played from July 8 to August 23 in England. The host team won the five match series 2-1. The matches were played in Cardiff, Birmingham, Leeds and London. The second Test at Lord’s was memorable for England as the team won their first Ashes win at the ground in 75 years. English captain Andrew Strauss and Australian Michael Clarke were jointly chosen for the Player of the Series trophy.
