    6,176,050 people out of the total population of Himachal Pradesh live in rural area in which the number of males were 3,110,345 and females were 3,065,705.


    In rural areas, the sex ratio was 986 females per 1000 males. The total number of children between 0-6 years living in rural areas were 712,822. Average literacy rate in rural areas was 81.85%.
