Maharashtra: Literacy rate as per Census 2011

Maharashtra’s literacy rate has witnessed aloft tendency and it was 82.34 % as per Census 2011.

Maharashtra’s literacy rate has witnessed aloft tendency and it was 82.34 % as per Census 2011. The male literacy rate was 88.38 % however the female literacy was 69.87 %.

 

In the year 2001, Maharashtra’s literacy rate was 76.88 % out of which the male literacy stood at 85.97 % and female literacy at 67.03 %.

 

The total number of literates in Maharashtra stood at 81,554,290 out of which the males were 45,257,584 however the females were 36,296,706.
