The chief language that is spoken in the Punjab is Punjabi. In India, the Punjabi language is written in the Gurmukhi script.

The chief language that is spoken in the Punjab is Punjabi. In India, the Punjabi language is written in the Gurmukhi script. However in Pakistan, people use Shahmukhi script for writing Punjabi, which is closer to Urdu script.

 

Hindi is written in Devanagri script and is widely used in the Indian states. The various dialects of Punjabi are spoken in the dissimilar regions.
