A city as old as 3000- Years

The juice of the job of an archeologist is that it is not guaranteed that he may find what he is looking for, but, if he gets lucky, he may find something that he may not have even dreamt of. This is what happened to the archeologists who were expecting to uncover the mortuary temple of King Tut, but were fortunate enough to find a whole Egyptian city. They dug in the year 2021 in Luxor. During their search, they found artifacts that were in good condition. As per estimations, the town was established in the Eighteenth dynasty of Egypt. It was Pharaoh Amenhotep III who was ruling at this time. This dig proved to be a significant one, as many describe it as the greatest revelation in a long time.

The Roman Shipwreck

The Library of Alexandria

The decline of the Great Library of Alexandria, Egypt is one of the most significant losses in ancient times. The destruction of the library caused so many valuable volumes of human knowledge to get lost forever. It is impossible to bring back this lost wisdom. However, in the year 2004, a team of Polish and Egyptian researchers claimed that they discovered the library ruins. The excavation made it possible for these researchers to find enormous lecture halls. These halls were capable of accommodating about 5,000 people. What makes this discovery valuable is the fact that while humankind that values knowledge has been mourning the destruction of this great library, it has been for the very first time that some physical evidence of the library was found.

The rule of women in Spain

Fortunately, women ruling the world is not a new concept today, but can you think of women ruling the in the Bronze Age? No, right?

Well, this could be possible as in the year 2014, a grave was found and excavated in Spain, called the La Almoloya. The grave also had artifacts and remains. In the grave, a husband and a wife were buried together. What seems to point toward the rule of a woman in the area is the fact that it was the woman and not the man who was draped in fine treasures and goods. The woman was wearing a silver diadem. This silver diadem points towards a royal status.
