What is the Official Language of Goa?

Goa's official language is Konkani, which became recognised as Goa's official language in 1987 when the Goa, Daman and Diu Official Languages Act was passed.

Although Konkani primarily uses the Devanagari script to be written, in Goa many use Roman letters to write Konkani. Konkani is integral to the cultural heritage and history of Goa.
