Ganesh Acharya Biography: A charge sheet has been filed by the Mumbai Police against Bollywood Choreographer Ganesh Acharya for harassment, stalking and voyeurism in a 2020 case filed by his co-dancer.
Ganesh Acharya and his assistant have been charged under sections 354-a (sexual harassment), 354-c (voyeurism ), 354-d (stalking), 509 (insulting the modesty of any woman), 323 (causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (common intention to commit an offence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The complainant alleged that Ganesh Acharya had been harassing her after she turned down his sexual advances, and accused him of making lewd comments, showing her porn and molesting her.
Ganesh Acharya had allegedly told her co-dancer in 2019 that if she wanted to succeed, she would have to have sex with him, which she refused. Six months later, the Indian Film and Television Choreographers Association terminated her membership. When she opposed Acharya’s actions at a meeting in 2020, the choreographer allegedly abused her and his assistants assaulted her.

Ganesh Acharya Biography: Birth, Age, Family and Education
Ganesh Acharya was born on 23 May 1971 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. His father Krishna Gopi was a dancer and choreographer. At the age of 11, his father died, and the family plunged into a financial crisis. To earn for his family, Ganesh gave up his studies and moved to Cuttak in Orrisa where he learned dancing from his sister.
Ganesh Acharya Career
At the age of 12, Ganesh started his dance group and became a choreographer at the age of 19. His debut movie was Anaam which was released in 1992 when he was 21.
Since then, Ganesh Acharya has choreographed and directed many notable films including Rang De Basanti, Phir Hera Pheri, Golmaal, Omkara and Lage Raho Munna Bhai. As a director, his debut movie was Swami which was released in the year 2007.
Ganesh Acharya has choreographed numerous famous songs including Badi Mushkil, Aisa Jadoo Dala Re, and Chikni Chameli.
Govinda is his favourite Bollywood actor, and Madhuri is his favourite actress. Ganesh Acharya has choreographed Govinda in almost all of his films.
