Who is Riyan Parag?
Born on 10 November 2001 to a family of athletes, Parag was born in Guwahati, Assam. Diving into his personal life, his father, Mr Parag Das, is a former first-class cricketer who has represented Assam, Railways, and East Zone cricket teams.
His mother, Mithoo Barooah, is a former national record-holding swimmer in 50m freestyle who represented India at the Asian Championships and SAF Games.
Since athleticism was running in his blood, Parag made his Twenty20 debut for Assam in the 2016–17 Inter-State Twenty-20 Tournament on 29 January 2017.
He may have been India's youngest debutant at the age of 14. However, the Assam selectors were not on the same page with the state's then-coach, Sanath Kumar.
On November 17, 2017, he made his first-class debut for Assam in the 2017-2018 Ranji Trophy. He made history as the first FC cricketer born in India in the twenty-first century with that debut.

Shumban Gill will captain squad A. During the Sri Lankan trip, Gill was selected as vice-captain of the Indian ODI and T20I teams, raising the possibility that he may take Rohit Sharma's place as captain.
In addition, KL Rahul, who captained India in all three formats not too long ago, will be the captain of Team B for this tournament.
