The mercury dropped significantly in several parts of Bihar on Thursday, with Dehri and Banka recording the lowest temperature of 4.4 degree celsius, the coldest in the region, according to the india metrological department (IMD). The minimum temperature is expected to remain between 6-11 degree celsius over the next three to four days across various parts of Bihar, including the state capital Patna.
Coldest Areas in the Bihar State
The IMD Bulletin revealed that Dehri and Banka were the coldest areas in the state on Thursday, followed by Aurangabad, check out the tabulated information for areas and temperature:

The Met Department also reported low visibility due to fog in different parts of the state. In light of these cold conditions, an official order has been issued, mamdating all private and goverenmrnt schools (including pre-schools, anganwadi centres, and coaching centres) to hold academic activities from 9 AM TO 4 PM From January 2 to Januray 11, 2025.
