The Central Board of Secondary Education has announced the CBSE Class 10th, 12th results 2024 today, May 13, 2024. The students can download their board results online on the official website- cbse.gov.in. The board adopts a grading system to evaluate the student's performance based on their performance and marks scored. There are some abbreviations used in the provisional marksheet as well, which might prove to be confusing.

The CBSE Board awards its students grades between A1 and E2, with A1 being the upper level and E2 being the lower. The students getting an ‘E’ grade will have to either take the CBSE Compartment Exam 2024 or reappear for the CBSE Board Exam next academic year. More than 1 lakh students got Compartment in CBSE Board Class 12th Exams 2024. They will have to re-appear for the exams.

The provisional marksheet consists of some abbreviations which might create confusion among the students. The following table contains the full form of the abbreviations mentioned on the scorecard:

CBSE 10th, 12th Result 2024: Passing Criteria
The only students who would be considered to have passed the CBSE Board Exam 2024 if they fulfill the criteria mentioned below:
- Must secure 33% marks, or a grade higher than ‘E’ in all the five subjects of external exams.
- In practical-based subjects, the candidate must secure 33% marks in theory as well as practical. The aggregate marks must also not be less than 33%.
