DBSE Sose Admission Test 2021: The Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE) will be conducting aptitude tests for admission to Specialised Schools of Excellence (SoSE) from 27th to 31st August. Over 26,000 applications have been received for the three-hour test which will be conducted in 64 schools. As per the media reports, a senior official said that “Based on the information submitted in the registration form, all students meeting eligibility requirements have been issued admit cards. Students, who applied to multiple specialisations but did not state a final preference by August 24, have been allotted the campus chosen in their first registration.”
Also, students who applied to courses in class 9 and 11, at both points of entry, and did not clarify their point of entry have been issued admit card for the examination to the more appropriate grade as per their age submitted in the registration form.

Candidates can download the admit card for the exam from the department of education’s website, and through a private link sent to the student’s registered mobile number via SMS. The department added that students who applied for multiple specialisations and did not state a final preference have been allotted the campus chosen in their first registration.

The entrance tests for humanities, high-end 21st-century skills, and STEM subjects for students of classes 9 and 11 with the physics-chemistry-biology subject combinations will be conducted on 27th, 28th and 29th August respectively. The entrance for performance and visual arts and STEM subjects for Class 11 students with the physics-chemistry-mathematics combination will be held on 31st August 2021.

SoSEs offer specialised education to students of classes 9 to 12 in four domains - science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), humanities, performing and visual arts, and ‘high-end 21st-century skills. The department has reserved 1,920 seats for STEM, 600 seats for humanities and skills each, and 240 for performing and visual arts in the 20 SoSEs.
Formation of Delhi Board of School Education
Early this year, the Delhi government had approved the formation of the DBSE to move away from one-time end of the year, rote-learning based examination system and instead create a framework of continuous assessment. In the current academic year, 30 schools are affiliated to the DBSE. In next the few years, all government schools of Delhi will be affiliated to the DBSE which has started functioning in partnership with the International Baccalaureate.
