IIT Patna Convocation: IIT Patna has just celebrated its convocation and many students from different disciplines got their Degrees. It was the seventh convocation of the institute and it was held at Bihta Campus where more then 300 students participated. These students got their Degrees during the convocation. The Guest of Honour of the convocation was Prof. Devang Khakhhar, the former Director of IIT Bombay.
The convocation was addressed by the guest of honour in which he said, “Convocation is a milestone. Now you will leave your shelter and the outside world is full of challenges. You may not realise that the education and knowledge you have gained in IIT is unique and rare. Each student must utilise his knowledge of science for the betterment of the nation. I wish the students to reach more heights of success.”
Also, the annual report of the institute was presented by the Director of the institute during the convocation. During the convocation, students from various disciplines get their Degrees. The various disciplines for which the Degrees were awarded are:
B. Tech.: 191 students
M.Sc.: 26 students
M.Tech.: 78 students
Ph.D.: 40 students
Ashish Raj bagged the President of India gold medal and Tarun Garg bagged the Director’s gold medal. Both these students are from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Ashish Raj also got Shri Kedar Nath Das Memorial Award and a cash prize of Rs. 10,000. Apart from this, Mansi received Aryabhatta gold medal in the department of M.Sc. and Zufishan Haque received Chairman’s gold medal in the department of M.Tech. The convocation has been really inspirational for the young talents who are going to see the real world now.
