GATE 2022 Postponement: With just three more days to go, GATE 2022 Postponement Plea has been filed before the apex court. As per latest update, Supreme Court will hear a GATE 2022 Exam Postponement petition tomorrow i.e., on 3^rd February 2022, merely days ahead of the scheduled date for the PG Entrance Exam. The petition has been filed by a group of students today and Chief Justice of India, NV Ramana led bench has ordered its listing for hearing to be held tomorrow. GATE 2022 Exam is scheduled to be held on 5th and 6th February 2022 in offline mode across the country.

Plea filed by Group of Students

Media reports have confirmed that the plea demanding postponement of GATE 2022 exam has been filed by a Group of Students who want the exam to be deferred from its schedule of this weekend. Advocate Pallav Mongia who is representing the students’ group has sought an urgent hearing on the case. After considering the urgent nature of the plea, the apex court has scheduled it for hearing tomorrow.

Online Campaign for GATE 2022 Postponement

Candidates who are due to appear for GATE 2022 exam have been demanding postponement of the GATE 2022 exam since nearly 1 month now. Following the outbreak of 3^rd wave of COVID-19 and travel restrictions being imposed in several cities and states; students have held various online campaigns demanding postponement of GATE 2022 examination. However, despite these online campaigns, IIT Kharagpur which is the organizing institute for the PG entrance exam has not given any relaxation in this matter. With no other resort left, a group of students have decided to take the legal route and reach out to the Supreme Court seeking relief.

Will GATE 2022 exam will be postponed?

Coming to the biggest question that is on the minds of thousands of GATE 2022 aspirants, will the exam be postponed? Well, as of now there is no confirmation about GATE 2022 postponement from the exam conducting authority. With just three days left, IIT KGP has also released the GATE 2022 admit cards for individual candidates and also told candidates that the same can be used as travel pass in case of lockdown measures. In such scenario, the only relief with regards to GATE 2022 exam postponement can be expected in the form a direction from the apex court. But, for now, we will have to wait until tomorrow for the final decision regarding postponement of GATE 2022 exam.
