GATE 2022: As per the recent updates, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur Director Prof. Virendra Kumar Tewari informed that they are reviewing the situation and the decision regarding postponement of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2022 exam will be taken soon.
As per the released dates, the GATE PG Engineering Entrance Exam has been scheduled to be conducted on 5th, 6th, 12th and 13th February 2022. GATE 2022 will be held in two slots on the exam days. The first slot is from 9 am to 12 noon and the next one is between 2:30 pm and 5:30 pm.

"We are consulting with our members associated with the GATE exam, and in constant touch with the administration, authorities, the decision on whether to conduct GATE exam or postponed will be taken soon. The candidates are advised to follow the official website - gate.iitkgp.ac.in only regarding the exam dates, hall ticket."
GATE 2022 Admit Card
Earlier, the GATE admit card was scheduled to be released on 7th January but was deferred. "Date of downloading GATE 2022 admit cards will be announced shortly," the institute stated. The admit card after its release will be available at gate.iitkgp.ac.in. Candidates will be able to download it in online mode by using the login credentials.
A study by IIT Madras
As per a study by IIT Madras, the COVID-19 third wave may peak between 1st and 15th February. The candidates are quite anxious as GATE will be held between 5th to 13th February. "If you delayed exam or not that's totally depends on you #iitkharagpur..But make it clear as soon as possible #Gate2022...and before taking any decision pls go through the news," a candidate tweeted.
About GATE
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is conducted to select candidates for admission in PG engineering courses. The GATE scores are also taken into consideration during PSU recruitments. GATE exam is conducted jointly by the seven IITs (Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kharagpur, Madras, Roorkee, and Kanpur) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore.
