We are living in a digital era and things have been changing very rapidly. The technology and digitisation are the talks of the day. We all have been surrounded by the technology and it is not just us but all the kids around us have been in the same groove. The kids these days have been involved intensively in the gaming and other video sharing apps and they find them so interesting. They waste much of their time in using these apps. It has severely hampered the studies and the outdoor activities they could have participated in. This has posed a serious challenge and has been alarming effects in the long run. Taking the same into account, the government has been trying its best so that the effects can be minimised.

In a recent development, the education department of the Goa government has come up with some guidelines for the schools of the state. The department has directed the schools that they need to put efforts to discourage the school students from using and downloading the apps like Tik Tok  and PUBG on their mobile phones. These two apps have been most popular amongst the kids these days. Not only the kids, but the adults also involve themselves in using these apps. It takes much of the time from their daily routine and has serious impact on their studies and work.

The apps and the games like Tik Tok and PUBG not just take away the important time from the kids but also they create safety and security issues for them. In the light of these threats, the education department of the state issued a circular to all the heads of the educational institutions in the state. The department is of the opinion that if timely action is taken then it may be of great help in saving some lives. The education department of the state issued the directions after the recommendations of the Goa State Commission for Protection of Child Rights. The circular highlights that the schools should call a meeting of Parents Teachers Associations in order to create awareness about these apps and games.
