Guinness world record claimed by Intel, CBSE for virtual AI lessons conducted in 24 hours for 13,000 students

The Central Board of Secondary Education and Intel have claimed to achieve a new Guinness World Record title for the most users to take an online Artificial Intelligence lessin in 24 hours. Check complete details here.

The Central Board of Secondary Education and Intel have claimed to achieve a new Guinness World Record title for the most users to take an online Artificial Intelligence lesson in 24 hours. According to reports, the record was set after a virtual class was conducted focussing on ‘Demystifying the impact of AI and key considerations around it’. The classes were conducted for 13m000 students from classes 8 and above between October 13 and 14, 2020 as part of the ongoing AI For Youth Virtual Symposium conducted by Intel and CBSE.

The Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal while inaugurating the AI for Youth Virtual Symposium took to twitter to congratulate the CBSE and Interk for the collaboration. Under the symposium over 200 multi-disciplinary Artificial Intelligence integrated lesson plans were released online for the students from classes 6 to 12. 

Lessons prepared by experts

The education minister while speaking about the programme stated that each of the lesson plans has been written by teachers who are experts in the subjects and forerunners in incorporating AI tools to help students gain knowledge in an experiential and enjoyable manner according to the guidelines set in the National Education Policy 2020. Intel in a statement has added that the lesson plans will be hosted by DIKSHA -  the national digital platform for school education.

Both Intel and CBSE have been working under the Ministry of Education to increase the pace of Artificial Intelligence in the Education system in the country. Shweta Khurana - Director of APJ Global Partnership and Initiatives at Intel while speaking about the achievement stated that the response to the virtual AI lesson from the students across the country which has helped in setting the world record shows that the youth of the country are engaged and eager to explore and innovate.
