IIT Gandhinagar launches Early Admit MSc Programme, Get Complete Details Here

The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar is furthering its comprehensive approach towards education with the introduction of the Early Admit M. Sc Programme. Renowned for actively promoting cutting edge research to address the present-day global challenge, the institute is known for offering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes that are quite unique and unheard of. IITGN had already successfully implemented its initiatives such as Early Admit M. Tech and Start Early Ph.D. programmes that groom talented undergraduate students by exposing them to the institute’s one-of-a-kind educational culture.

Starting July 2020, the institute is broadening its horizon into the realm of Master of Science degree and introducing the Early Admit M. Sc programme in the disciplines of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The programme aims to encourage talented and deserving individuals to engage in breakthrough research and education. The structure and other regulations of the programme will be similar to the other M. Sc programmes offered by the institute. IITGN Early Admit M. Sc Programme: Who Can Apply

To be eligible for the IITGN Early Admit M. Sc programme, candidates are required to have a B.Tech degree from IITs with CPI not less than 6.0 at the end of their 3rd year. In addition to this, the top five rank holders in their departments (undergrad B.Tech and B. Sc students from relevant discipline) from NITs and other select educational institutes at the end of their pre-final year are also eligible to apply. There is no mandatory requirement of a valid JAM/GATE score for admission to the programme.

IITGN Early Admit M. Sc Programme: Admission Criteria

Eligible students will be granted admission on the basis of academic credentials, written test and/or interview. The written test will include topics related to general aptitude (viz., analytical and numerical ability, logical reasoning), writing skills, and basic courses of different disciplines at the undergraduate level. Students who qualify the written test of Early Admit IITGN M. Sc programme will have to appear for the personal interview that will be conducted by the institute. Benefits and Awards of IITGN Early Admit M. Sc Programme

Students who are selected to the Early Admit M. Sc Programme 2020 will be awarded a monthly scholarship of Rs. 5,000 along with an additional financial support up to Rs. 60,000 for presenting their research work at national and international conferences and symposiums.

The last date to apply for IITGN Early Admit M. Sc Programme 2020 is 25th March 2020. The institute will announce the list of shortlisted candidates by verifying the eligibility criteria of the applicants by 31st March 2020. The written test and interviews for IITGN Early Admit M. Sc programme 2020 will be conducted by 25th-26th April 2020.

Krishna Kanti Dey, Associate Dean of Post Graduate Studies and Assistant Professor in Physics at IITGN has said that the primary objective behind the Early Admit M. Sc programme is to attract the best minds and develop a curriculum which the students find to be more practical and engaging. The institute aims to improve the quality of its postgraduate programme by kick starting the research career of its students early.
