IIT Kharagpur or Indian Institute of Technology - Kharagpur has delayed the Joint Admission Test or JAM 2019 online registration process. The JAM 2019 online registration process will now begin from September 05, 2018 on the official website of the institute - www.jam.iitkgp.ac.in. Earlier, the online registration and application portal was scheduled to open on September 1, 2018, i.e. today. Interested candidates can fill the application form and upload documents on the official website of IIT Kharagpur - which is the organising institute this year - till October 10.
The Joint Admission Test or JAM examination is conducted to provide admission to M.Sc, Joint M.Sc, Ph.D., M.Sc, Ph.D. Dual Degree etc. Every year, one of the IIT institutes is given the responsibility of conducting the exam. This year, IIT Kharagpur has been given the task. The JAM 2018 test will be conducted through the online mode. The JAM 2019 test is open for all nationals (Indian / Foreign). The aspirants who want to enroll for the academic programmes offered under JAM 2019 will have to appear in the test.
As per the notification, there is no bar in the age limit. Candidates having a Bachelor's Degree are eligible for JAM exam. General/OBC candidates must have an aggregate of at least 55 per cent or 5.5 CGPA/CPI without rounding off (including all subjects) for the category. For SC/ST and PwD category candidates at least 50 per cent or 5.0 CGPA/CPI is required. The examination date for JAM 2019 is February 10th 2019. It will be conducted online, i.e. it’s going to be a computer-based test. The JAM exam is being conducted from 2004 to provide admissions.
