Karnataka Govt to Implement Digital Learning: As per the latest update, the Karnataka State Government is planning to implement LMS Based Digital Learning solutions for higher education institutions based in the state. From this academic year i.e. 2020-21, Karnataka LMS will be implemented in 430 government first-grade colleges, 87 government polytechnics and 14 government engineering colleges as per the official announcement.
Karnataka LMS Launched by Chief Minister
The Karnataka LMS for Digital Learning was officially launched by Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa recently. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister C N Ashwath Narayan, who is also in charge of the Higher Education Department was also present at the launch event. At the event, Chief Minister noted that the launch of Karnataka LMS for higher education institutions will facilitate earning of about 4.5 lakh students through around 24000 teachers.
Chief Minister has also been reportedly quoted as saying that “"This program is being implemented at an expenditure of Rs 34.14 crore in two ways- LMS based digital learning and establishing 2,500 ICT enabled classes.”
Students can access Study Material Anywhere At Anytime
The Learning Management System launched for higher education institutions based in the state has been implemented to facilaite digital learning, which has become a necessity in current times of COVID-19 pandemic. Through Karnataka LMS, students will be able to access study material anytime and anywhere. The LMS has been designed to be a comprehensive learning tool for all the students with teaching, learning, continuous evaluation and corrective measures. The learning tool is aimed at revolutionizing the teaching and learning process by effecting transformative changes in the delivery of content, access and assessment.
