Maharashtra School Reopening: Guidelines issued for schools reopening from December 1

According to recent media reports, the Maharashtra state government has issued guidelines for the reopening of the schools from December 1, 2021.  Schools reopening have been asked to follow all the COVID protocols and guidelines issued for the safety of the students.

According to recent media reports, the Maharashtra state government has issued guidelines for the reopening of the schools from December 1, 2021. According to reports, schools in Maharashtra are set to reopen from December 1, 2021, for students from classes 1 to 7. The announcement regarding the school reopening was made on Twitter by State School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad. The schools are being reopened for both urban and rural areas.

Maharashtra School Reopening: Guidelines

  • School authorities have been asked to make sure that there is a distance of at least 6 feet between students at all times and students and teachers practice social distancing.
  • All the students and staff members have been asked to wear masks at all times.
  • If students or teachers are found with any symptoms, they are to be stopped from entering the campus.
  • The state health department has also stated that the vaccination of non-teaching staff members is mandatory and hence, schools must ensure that it is completed. 
  • Schools and the surroundings are to be kept clean and regular sanitation is also mandatory. Students have also been advised to wash their hands frequently. 
  • School authorities have been asked to adopt a biometric attendance system or any other alternative considering the pandemic situation.
  • Schools have also been asked to avoid activities that could lead to a crowd which includes games or group activities.
  • According to the official orders issued, a quarter of the students must have access to online education. Children have also been asked to follow all the rules without fail.
  • School authorities have also been warned that in case more than 5 children in the same class or same school are found infected with COVID within a period of two weeks the government will conduct a review of the COVID prevention action plan of the school and act accordingly.
