Manipur Class 12 Board Exam 2021 Update: As per the latest update, the Manipur State Government has decided to cut-down the COHSEM Class 12 Board Exam syllabus by 30% in the wake of learning gap due to the pandemic. The Manipur HSE Exam 2021 are likely to be held in the month of May and preparations for the same are currently underway, as confirmed by board officials. As part of the preparation for holding of the COHSEM Class 12 Board Exams, the council is planning to double the number of examination centres from 101 in view of the pandemic and the centres have already been identified.
Schools Likely to Reopen Soon
As per the details shared by COHSEM secretary Mr Biren Singh, the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur has already commenced the necessary preparations for holding of the board exams in the coming months. The COHSEM Exams are likely to be held in the month of May 2021 i.e. with a slight delay owing to the impact of the lockdown and pandemic. In line with the conduct of the examination, then state government is likely to announce reopening of schools for Class 12 students soon, most likely in a week of two, as confirmed by reports. Confirming the development, Mr Singh said that “Once schools are reopened we will circulate the exam schedule. We are awaiting government’s approval”.
Syllabus Reduced by 30%
Mr Singh also said that on Monday 11th January 2021, the Board held marathon meeting and elaborate discussion with the principals of several schools based in the state. The meeting was aimed at seeking their opinion on the matter of holding the Manipur 12th Board Exam 2021 and the preparations that are required for the same. In the meeting, most of the school principals recommended holding the COHSEM HSE Exam 2021 in offline format. Reports confirmed that of the 188 higher secondary schools in the state; 136 had given their feedback in favour of conducting the examination offline. Moreover, in the same meeting, administrators also suggested reduction in the school syllabus by 30% to reduce the academic burden on the students.
In view of the pandemic, COHSEM had already given promotion to class 11 students in April following state cabinet’s approval.
