Meghalaya Signs MoU with Airtel Foundation to Strengthen Teacher Training, Digital Learning
Meghalaya has signed an MoU with Bharti Airtel Foundation to strengthen teacher training, digital learning and professional development through MTTA.
Meghalaya Airtel Foundation MoU: The Meghalaya government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bharti Airtel Foundation to strengthen teacher training, promote digital learning and build a future-ready education workforce. The partnership aims to enhance the professional skills of teachers and education personnel through continuous training, modern teaching methodologies and technology-enabled learning.
The agreement was signed by the state Education Department and the Directorate of Educational Research and Training (DERT) on Thursday to strengthen the Meghalaya Teachers Training Academy (MTTA). Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui attended the MoU signing ceremony.

Meghalaya Teacher Training Academy to Be Strengthened
The partnership is expected to strengthen the Meghalaya Teachers Training Academy as a centre for continuous professional learning. Under the collaboration, the focus will be on capacity-building programmes and continuous professional development. Technology-enabled learning and modern teaching methodologies are also expected to play an important role in helping educators respond to evolving classroom needs.
The initiative forms part of the Meghalaya government's broader efforts to improve teacher capacity and enhance the quality of education across the state.
Lahkmen Rymbui Emphasises Continuous Teacher Development
Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui, who was present at the MoU signing ceremony, highlighted the importance of regularly upgrading teachers' knowledge, skills and teaching practices.
With education and technology continuing to evolve, teachers need opportunities for ongoing professional learning to respond effectively to students' changing needs. The collaboration with Bharti Airtel Foundation is expected to support this objective by strengthening professional development opportunities for educators.
