MHT CET 2021 Entrance Exam likely to be held in 1st Week of August, says Education Minister Uday Samant

MHT CET 2021: The Higher & Technical Education Minister Uday Samant informed about the tentative exam date. As per his statement, the Maharashtra CET entrance exam will likely to be held in the last week of July or first week of August 2021.

MHT CET 2021: The Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant said that the CET or the Common Entrance Test for professional courses after class 12th in Maharashtra could be held in the last week of July or the first week of August 2021. However, the exact date for the MHT CET 2021 will be released soon on the official website.

He also informed that the in-person classes in colleges will not begin as of now. He said, colleges can not open in the present situation and online classes will continue. The state disaster management authority, headed by the chief minister, will review the situation.

MHT CET 2021 Registration

The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra has released the application form of Maharashtra CET in online mode. The application form is available on the official website - mhtcet2021.mahacet.org. Interested candidates can apply till 7th July 2021. The entrance exam is conducted for admission to the first year of Engineering, Technology, Pharmacy, Agriculture and other professional programmes at participating institutions.

MHT CET Eligibility Criteria 2021

The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra has released revised MHT CET 2021 eligibility details along with the official brochure. As per the revised MHT CET eligibility criteria 2021, the authorities have reduced the qualifying examination marks for all categories belonging to Maharashtra by 5%. Also, there has been no change in the age limit. Interested candidates will have to meet the eligibility to apply for the MHT CET 2021.

Maharashtra Teacher's Recruitment

Apart from informing about the tentative exam date, the Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant said that "The state government had already filled up around 1,200 of 4,084 college teachers' posts which a high-power committee had recommended but the process halted due to COVID-19." He further added the recruitment will resume soon. A long-standing demand of contractual teachers in government-aided colleges that they are paid at par with teachers in private universities will be fulfilled soon.
