
NEET PG 2021 Postponed: As per the latest update, the NEET PG 2021 Exam which was scheduled to be held on 18th April 2021 has been postponed in the light of the COVID-19 situation in the country. The announcement about NEET PG 2021 postponement was formally made by Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan today evening. As of now, the decision has only been taken about postponement of the exam and the new date for the NEET PG 2021 exam would be notified later. Health Minister also added that the decision to postponement NEET 2021 Post Graduate Level Entrance Exam was taken keeping in mind wellbeing of our young medical students.
Formal Announcement on Twitter
Following repeated requests of Medical aspirants who are to appear for the NEET PG 2021 exam, Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan today announced the decision to postpone the Post Graduate level medical entrance exam to a later date. Taking to twitter, Mr Harsh Vardhan said that “In light of the surge in #COVID19 cases,GoI has decided to postpone #NEETPG2021 exam which was earlier scheduled to be held on 18th April.” He also added that the decision has been taken keeping wellbeing of our young medical students in mind. In a second tweet, he said that Health & safety of our young doctors is paramount, sharing a copy of the formal order confirming the postponement of the NEET PG 2021 Exam.

Decision addresses Concerns of Medical Aspirants
Following the formal announcement made by the Union Health Minister about the postponement of the NEET PG 2021 exam, several medical aspirants have welcomed the decision which addresses their concerns. Earlier, following the rapid rise in the COVID-19 cases and deteriorating situation across the country, several NEET PG 2021 aspirants had reached out to the NBE – National Board of Examinations and Health Minister, urging them to postpone the exam.
In fact, media reports also highlighted that several state governments had roped in MBBS students for COVID-19 duty in the wake of the 2nd wave of the pandemic. Such students, who were actively involved in COVID-19 duty wouldn’t be able to attend the exam in case it was not postponed. Therefore, the decision has been welcomed in medical aspirants as well as other stakeholders.
