PM Narendra Modi to lay foundation stone of Meerut Sports University on January 2

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be laying the foundation stone for the Sport University in Salwa Village in Sardhana on January 2, 2022. Check details of the ceremony and measures taken by authorities.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be laying the foundation stone for the Sport University in Salwa Village in Sardhana on January 2, 2022. According to reports, Meerut Divisional Commissioner Surendra Singh in a meeting with the police and district officials stated that discussions were conducted for making all the necessary arrangements for the event.

Felicitation of beneficiaries

As per reports, after laying the foundation stone, some of the beneficiaries of the Centre’s Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana along with others will also be felicitated by PM Modi.

The Commissioner has also given directions regarding the various aspects like a helipad, parking, alternate traffic arrangements, security cordoning, and issuing of passes for the programmes. 

Officials attending the meeting

Other officials who attended the meeting with the Meerut Divisional commissioner included Meerut District Magistrate K Balaji, Senior Superintendent of Police Prabhakar Chaudhary, and other senior officials. 

Convocation IIT Kanpur

The Prime Minister will also be addressing the 54th Convocation Ceremony of the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur which will be conducted on December 28, 2021. The Prime Minister in a tweet has asked the people to share suggestions for his address at the convocation. The convocation will be conducted in the hybrid mode considering the COVID pandemic.
