Rajasthan University will be conducting the MPAT 2021 examinations for the M.Phil and Ph.D. programmes on October 29, 2021. The exams are being conducted by the university after a gap due to the pandemic.
Students interested in applying for the M.Phil and PhD programmes can visit the official website of the university for further information. As per the details provided, the MPAT 2021 exams are conducted for the M.Phil and Ph.D. admissions for 324 seats for NET+JRF students and 354 seats for teachers. The NET+JRF seats are usually taken up by the students who are still studying and seats for the teachers will have candidates who are already in a job as assistant professors without a Ph.D.
Rajasthan University faculty and convenor for MPAT - Rashmi Jain stated that this year after the pandemic, the university will conduct the first MPAT exams. In the last three years JRF students and teachers had to give separate exams which were time-consuming, she further added. She further added that separate research aptitude tests were conducted for the Science students and arts/ commerce students but this year only research aptitude exams will be conducted for all the students.
More than 100 enrolled faculty members of Rajasthan University were promoted which has increased 200 seats for Ph.D. but they will be added in the next MPAT exams as some more procedures need to be completed.
Jain also added that some of the professors who cannot take a new Ph.D. will be retiring in the next six months and many other approvals are also required from the Vice-chancellors office. More than 15 days will be required to complete the entire process which is why the MPAT dates have been issued. The MPAT Exams will be conducted next year for the admissions.
Changes in MPAT Exams
For the NET+JRF candidates who earlier used to get 10 percent, extra marks will now get just 10 marks while the students who have done their M.Phil from the university will bet an extra seven marks.
