Jharkhand Schools Closed: Schools in the Kolhan region of Jharkhand will remain closed today, October 25, 2024, due to heavy rain. Parts of the state are expected to witness continuous and heavy to very heavy rainfall due to Cyclone Dana.
The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for West Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharswan and East Singhbhum districts along with Jamshedpur where schools will remain closed.
According to the notification issued, all categories of government, non-government, aided, unaided and private schools from Kindergarten to class 12 in the West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum and Saraikela-Kharswan districts under Kolhan division will remain closed on October 25 due to heavy rainfall strong winds under the influence of cyclonic storm Dana.
Schools Closed in West Bengal, Odisha Due to Cyclone Dana
As per the official notification issued by authorities, all government and private schools in West Bengal and Odisha will remain closed until today, October 25 due to Cyclone Dana. Schools have been closed since October 23 due to the alert issued by the IMD of the Cyclone and the heavy rains along with it. As per reports, schools are now set to reopen in both states by October 28, 2024 (Monday).
Students and parents have however been notified of a chance of the leaves being extended in case the IMD issues a red or yellow alert. Students and parents are advised to keep in touch with school authorities regarding the latest updates on the reopening of schools.
