UP to start Online Classes from 20th May: As per the latest update, the Uttar Pradesh State Government has directed that all educational institutions in the state i.e. schools and colleges have to resume online classes for the students starting from 20th May 2021 onwards. However, these instructions issued by the state government wouldn’t be applicable Basic Education Department. Earlier, the state government had issued directions for suspension of online classes and virtual classroom education for all educational institutions until 15th May 2021 amid the COVID-19 surge.

Online Classes Resumed to Ensured Academic Continuity

One of the key reasons behind the resumption of online classes for school and college students even as COVID-19 cases continue to be found in the state, is to ensure that academic continuity for students is maintained. Following the suspension of online classes in the state, many students had highlighted that they were facing problems in continuing their academics. Looking at these concerns, the state government has now again directed the state’s educational institutions to resume online classes for the students.

UP Board 10th and 12th Exam 2021 Postponed by a Month

Earlier, the state government had also decided to postpone the UP Board 10th and 12th Exam 2021 by nearly a month due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The UP board exams were postponed till 20th May 2021 then, and any further decision on the same is likely to be announced soon by the state government soon. As of now, the situation around COVID-19 surge in the state has shown slight improvement. The state reported 12,547 cases and 281 deaths in the last 24 hours on Saturday. However, as part of the precautionary mechanism, the state government has decided to extend the partial state-wide coronavirus curfew till 7 am on 24th May 2021.
