UP School Reopening News: As per the latest update, the Uttar Pradesh State Government has given in principal permission for reopening of schools for primary and upper primary students from today onwards. As per the government order, schools for Class 6 to 8 students would be reopened from 10th February, while Schools for Class 1 to 5 students would be reopened from 1st March 2021. With schools slated to reopen for primary and upper primary class students, the state government has notified that all COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and precautionary guidelines will be adhered to as part of the reopening process.

 

News Confirmed by State Education Minister

The news about school reopening for Class 1 to 8 students was confirmed by Uttar Pradesh State Education Minister Dr Satish Dwivedi via a tweet. Mr Dwivedi sent out a tweet from his official account saying that the “In accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines issued by the Centre and state government, the primary and upper primary or middle schools under the basic education department will be reopened”. He also added the dates for the reopening of primary and middle schools in UP and also outlined that all preventive protocols will have to be followed for the same.

COVID-19 Guidelines, SOPs to be followed

In order to make sure that students safely return back to their campuses after a gap of nearly 10 months, the state government has directed all school administrators, teachers and district level officers to ensure strict compliance with the COVID-19 guidelines. The schools have been directed to prepare their classrooms and other common areas as per the COVID-19 guidelines and then hold the offline classes from the given dates. School administrators will have to comply with a host of health protocols including wearing face masks, maintaining social distance and using hand sanitisers inside the school.
