Cyber Clubs: The Yogi Adityanath-led government in order to prevent cyber crimes, has asked schools and colleges to establish cyber clubs and create awareness among students regarding cyber crimes. As per the recent updates, these cyber clubs will include seminars, workshops, and conducting creative and interactive sessions like slogan writing and poster making.
However, the Uttar Pradesh government also said that these clubs will be responsible to carry out the activities such as sharing best practices, conducting case studies regularly stating how to shut down the computer properly, keeping the internet browser updated, installing and maintaining the anti-virus software, and being alert to any unusual activity or problem found in the computer.
According to the media reports, these clubs will motivate students to avoid connecting with unknown Wi-Fi network connections, or unsecured Wi-Fi hotspots. Cyber Clubs will also conduct sessions on not sharing important information on the internet that is related to personal finance.
However, as per the data available on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal, over 50% of cyber crimes are related to financial frauds that take place online. The government official also said that in view of increasing incidents of cyber crimes in the state, it is very important to spread awareness among youth and school students who can lead from the front and can help to prevent cyber crimes, reports said.
