Established in 1984, the State Board of Technical Education and Training Andhra Pradesh (SBTET AP) is a statutory body under the authority of Government of Andhra Pradesh as an adjunct office of the Department of Technical Education. While the Technical Education Department concentrates more on the administration and developmental aspects, the SBTET is responsible to frame policies for Technical Education in the state as well as to review and revise the syllabi as per requirements of the society.
Entrusted with the responsibility to conduct examinations and award Certificates, the Board also supervises the teaching in technical institutions across the AP state. Apart from these, the SBTET also act as an advisory body to the Government giving suggestion and formulating ideas on the coordinated development of Technical Education in the State at all levels below Under-Graduate level.
A.P polytechnic is popularly known as Andhra Pradesh state board of technical education and training which conducts its examination every year. POLYCET is an entrance test which is successfully conducted to provide admission in courses such as engineering/non-engineering/technology and these are offered in polytechnics institutions in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
There is a certain eligibility criterion which is important for the students to follow. Candidates who have passed SSC or equivalent examination from any recognized board or secondary education are eligible for these examinations. The candidates who have compartmentally passed or are appearing for SSC can also apply for the same. Apart from the eligibility criterion another significant aspect is that how to apply for these examinations. The information booklet and the application forms are available for sale at all kinds of government polytechnics, private polytechnics and at various Andhra Pradesh online centers. Before filling up the application form candidates are advised to read the instructions carefully and fill up accordingly without performing any sort of mistakes.
The admission procedure schedule dates will be announced once the A.P polytechnic (diploma courses) results are declared. Candidates who have already appeared for the examinations should be extremely careful with the admission related details as the same would be made on the basis of web counselling. The last date for filling the application form was 28th April 2014 and the examination for the same was held on 21st May 2014.
In addition these examinations are not a cake walk to clear. Students are supposed to work extremely hard and stay focused when it comes to clearing these examinations. It goes without saying that there are no short cuts to success. In order to be placed well with reputed organizations it is important to be a product of reputed institution. This is because in the present day world competition has progressively increased and each one desires to achieve the best. Therefore, to step into the best hard work, focus and persistence is essentially needed.
