24 FAD C/O 56 APO Depot/ Unit under Ministry of Defence, Government of India, invited applications for recruitment to 41 posts of Fireman (6 posts + 2 backlog vacancies) and Mazdoor (30 posts + 3 backlog vacancies). Vacancy Details

Total vacancies: 41 posts

1. Fireman: 8 posts (including 2 backlog vacancies)

Pay Scale: Pay Band I of Rs.5200-20200 with Grade Pay of Rs.1900 per month;

Age limit:

Minimum: 18 years

Maximum: 25 years

Qualifications: Class 10th passed; with prescribed Physical Attributes

Endurance and Fitness Test

(a) Carrying a man (Fireman lift) of 63.5 Kg to a distance of 183 meters within 96 seconds

(b) Clearing 2.7 meters wide ditch landing on both feet (long jump)

(c) Climbing 3 meters vertical rope using hands and feet

(d) Written Test: Standard of questions will be of matriculation

2. Mazdoor: 33 posts (including 3 backlog vacancies)

Pay Scale: Pay Band I of Rs.5200-20200 with Grade Pay of Rs.1800 per month;

Age limit:

Minimum: 18 years

Maximum: 25 years

Qualifications: Class 10th passed; have Knowledge of Hindi language;

Prescribed tests:

1. 1 Km Run

2. Lift 50 Kgs weight

3. Stacking of stores

4. Written Test: Standard of questions will be of matriculation.

5. Personal interview

6. Any other test which facilitates selection within 21 days from the date of publication of the advertisement in the news paper i.e. till 26 July 2014

[Maximum age limit for OBC candidates is 28 years and for SC/ ST candidates is 30 years].

Selection Procedure

Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of their performance in the eligibility tests, written exam and Interviews, as per merit.

Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the eligibility tests – physical tests/ skill test, wherever required. Eligible candidates who would qualify the physical test (wherever applicable) only will be allowed to appear for the written test. Skill test, wherever applicable, will be conducted after written test and will be qualifying in nature. Candidates will be called for the Interview on the basis of their performance in written exam and physical test/ skill test.

Selection will be made strictly on merit basis. The posts carry All India service liability including Field Services.
