Reputed Jamia Millia Islamia University marked its 93rd anniversary celebration this October 29. During this commemorating event the guard of honour were received by retired Urdu department professor Dr. Mohammad Zakir , who was also the chief guest to this celebration event. The honour were also presented to university’s vice-chancellor SM Sajid, by the National cadet corps (NCC) Cadets of the university. The ceremony begun with flag hoisting and presenting guard of honour to the chief guest and VC.
The event also witnessed rejoicing programmes such as narration of University’s story and dedicated songs sand by the Jamia School kids.
During the occasion the SM Sajid, Vice-chancellor also stated about the future betterment plans to be initiated in the near future that include providing a unique email-id to each student enrolled in this university, which are approximately 18,000 currently. This will happen with the help of Centre for Information Technology at Jamia.
The intentions of this plan as mentioned by him is to channel the communication among students and teachers. Through this sharing of education resources, research papers, notes, online-tests, online submissions will become more feasible.
The other plan brought up by him during celebration meeting is plan of commencing a Certificate/ part-time course in Urdu subject for those who are ardent to study it.
The vice-chancellor inaugurated the exhibition on 'Indo-Islamic Architecture' as well. With this there is more to the 93rd celebration which is being continued through covering Seminars, musical performances like ghazals , sufi music etc.
