All India Entrance Examination for Admissions to Under Graduate Programmes (AIEEA-UG) 2012

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) invites applications from Indian Nationals, in the prescribed format mentioned below, for ICAR's 17th AIEEA-UG-2012 at ICAR-Deemed Universities (Bachelor degree at NDRI Karnal and on 15% seats (tentative) for Bachelor degrees in the academic session 2012-13.

Degree Programmes Available for Admission: The candidate has a right to exercise option only for one Stream at the time of submitting the application. The option once exercised cannot be changed subsequently.

  • Stream-A (Agriculture/Biology): Candidates under this stream can seek admission for Bachelor degree programmes in Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Forestry, Home Science, Sericulture, Food Science, and Biotechnology.
  • Stream-B (Mathematics): Candidates under this stream can seek admission for Bachelor degree programmes in Agricultural Engineering, Dairy Technology, Agricultural Marketing & Co-operation and also in Forestry, Food Science and Biotechnology at some of the Agricultural Universities provided Biology has been one of the subjects during 10+2 examination.

Important Dates

  • Opening Date for online/ offline submission of application: 26 December 2011
  • Last date for receipt of application: 15 February 2012
  • Last date for receipt of application (from remote areas): 22 February 2012
  • Admit Card Query: Third week of March 2012
  • Date & Time Examination: 14 April 2012 (10 am to 12.30 pm)
  • Declaration of Results: Third week of May 2012
  • Schedule for Counselling/ Personal Appearance: 15 June 2012 to 26 June 2012

Eligibility Criteria for AIEEA-UG- 2012

Educational Qualification: The candidate must have passed Candidate must have passed 10+2 Senior Secondary Examination of an Indian Board/ University after a period of 12 years of study. The last two years of such 10+2 examination should have papers in Physics, Chemistry and any one of the subjects from Biology/ Mathematics/ Agriculture/ Home Science.

Intermediate with Agriculture and having not studied Physics and Chemistry as separate subjects may also be eligible for admission in some SAUs in State of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh only.

Age Limit (as on 31 August 2012): Indian Nationals of at least 17 years of age but not more than 23 years

Selection Procedure: The examination shall be conducted in one of the two subject streams namely ‘Stream A' comprising of Physics, Chemistry and Agriculture/ Biology subjects and ‘Stream B' comprising of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects. Questions for Physics and Chemistry subjects shall be common for both subject streams.

Question paper will have 180 multiple-choice objective type questions, each with four options, 60 questions from each subject. Each correctly answered question will earn four marks, with a maximum of 720 marks for the paper. For each incorrect answer one mark will be deducted from the total score. Question with no response indicated will not be awarded any mark and there will be no negative marking for that question. 

Registration Fee: Rs 500 for General, OBC and UPS categories and Rs 250 for SC, ST, and PH categories.

How to Apply

Online Registration: Candidates should apply for AIEEE 2012 Online at http://icarexam.net/ During filling of prescribed online form, candidate can either opt for making fee payment through Bank Challan of Syndicate Bank or through Credit/ Debit card using Payment Gateway of Syndicate Bank. After filling the Online Application, candidate has to take a print out of his filled up application and bank challan (in 3 copies) through which he/ she has to deposit cash (fees) in the nearest Syndicate Bank branch.

Candidate can also opt for making fee payment through Credit / Debit card using Payment Gateway of Syndicate Bank. In this case the candidate will make payment directly from his computer and will not be required to visit the bank. Receipt of such payments/ application is confirmed immediately.

Offline Registration: Every Information Bulletin bears a serial number (known as Booklet/ Application Form Number) at the bottom right hand corner which is also indicated at the top of Application Form and both copies of Admit Cards. Application, filled-in, correctly in neat own handwriting of the candidate and complete in all respects, Acknowledgement card, duly affixed with postal stamp of an appropriate amount should be submitted through Registered/ Speed Post only so as to reach ‘The Controller of Examination (Education), ICAR, Room No. 216, Krishi Anusandhan Bhavan-II, Pusa, New Delhi 110 012'.
