All India Management Association (AIMA) rolled out an opportunity for business-oriented minds to keep up with the expansion of e-retailing, by launching a Post-graduate Program in Retail Management.
The Retail Management Course is completely job-oriented that is aimed at shaping up a career in the exponentially growing retail industry. It is noted that the retail sector in all contributes 8-10 % in India's GDP while the systemized retail industry offers direct employment to about 300,000 people, which is keep mounting with every new store launched in the market.
This Retail Management program will be of one-year duration that is focused on developing an in-depth understanding of all the aspects of retail management — operations, selling, customer relations, communication design, software application, data management & analytics, decision making and people-management. This course is not only concentrated on imparting theoretical knowledge, but will also be focused on skill development of the students.
The course structure also include practical programs for the candidates through live projects, role plays, case-study based teaching, simulation exercises, mentoring and coaching by industry experts, letting them to have concrete experience of retail industry. A degree/diploma in Retail Management will enable a participant to be a store manager, category manager, operation manager, merchandiser, buyer, franchisor, or business development manager in any leading retail business.
Every graduate are eligible to take admission in this program. Fresh graduates and working executives may also enroll themselves in the course. However, the selection will be made on the basis of past qualification, job experience and the statement of purpose. A total of 40 seats are available in this the program.
