Allahabad University is to determine the eligibility of the students for admissions to MBA courses through CAT score from 2015, following the decision of the Academic Council (AC) of the varsity.
Currently the MBA programme is taught at Motilal Nehru institute of business administration (MONIRBA) while MBA in rural management is offered by Govind Ballabh Pant Social Science Institute (GBPSSI).
Till now, the entrance examination for both courses were conducted by authorities of Allahabad University However, from the next year admission to the courses will be made on the basis of performance in common admission test (CAT Scores).
The admissions to MBA (rural development) programme offered by GBPSSI will also be made through an all-India entrance test, which will be conducted separately by the university.
The best option would be decided after having discussions with director of Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) followed by consulting various other institutions such as Xavier Institutes and KIIT University, Bhubaneswar told Director of GBPSSI, Pradeep Bhargava.
Other decisions were that the admissions under sports quota would be determined by the varsity after carrying out the exercises as mentioned in the norms and guidelines of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
