The Agriculture Scientist Recruitment Board (ASRB) of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) conducts National Eligibility Test (NET) Examination for determining eligibility for Lecturer/ Assistant Professor in the State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) and other Agricultural Universities (AUs). The test will be conducted in 55 disciplines on 20 January 2013 at 33 centres across the country.

Eligibility Criteria for ARS/ NET Examination 2012
Educational Qualification: Master’s degree in the concerned discipline with specialization
Age Limit (as on 31 October 2012): Minimum 21 years, no upper age limit
Selection procedure for ARS/ NET Examination 2012: The Test will consist of one paper of 150 marks consisting of 150 objective type multiple choice questions (from the respective discipline opted by the candidate) to be solved in 2 hours duration.
The candidates are required to obtain a minimum of 60% marks (General/ OBC) and 50% (SC/ ST/ PH) to qualify this paper.
The number of attempts however remains 5 for all candidates (whether MSc/PhD) for appearing in the National Eligibility Test Examination including the in-service candidates of ICAR.
How to Apply for ARS/ NET Examination 2012: Candidates need to download application form available on the ICAR/ ASRB website and send it to The Secretary, Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board, Krishi Anusandhan Bhavan, Pusa, New Delhi-110012. The application form should be hand written and the envelope containing the application form should be super scribed in bold letters as: “Application for NET Examination– 2012” along with Centre, Code No., Discipline, and Code No.
Application Fee: The application fees to be paid by SC/ ST/ PH candidate is Rs 250, for OBC candidate is Rs 500 and for General candidate is Rs 1000.
