Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) is conducted every year by the Birla Institute of Technology and Science for the admission to various undergraduate engineering degree courses at the three campuses of Institute. Birla Institute of Technology & Science, BITS Pilani is an all-India Institute for higher education. The School was started in early 1900s as a small school, which now provides higher education in the courses ranging from the Humanities to Engineering. BITS is a deemed to be university under Section 3 of the UGC Act. The university has 15 academic departments, and considered as one of the best private institution in the country. BITS has other centres located at Goa, Hyderabad and Dubai.
