Communication & IT Directorate (Communication Wing), Directorate General, Border Security Force (BSF), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India issue notification inviting applications for Direct and Departmental recruitment of 317 Assistant Sub Inspector (Radio Mechanic) [ASI-RM], Head Constable (Radio Operator) [HC-RO] and Head Constable- Fitter [HC-Fitter] in BSF Communication Setup-Aug-2014. Interested candidates should send their applications by post to one of the 15 designated centers mentioned in the notification so as to reach the concerned authority on or before 7 July 2014.

1. Assistant Sub Inspector (Radio Mechanic): 41 posts
Pay Scale: PB-1 of Rs.5200- 20200 with Grade Pay of Rs.2800 per month

Maximum: 25 years
Educational Qualification: Matric with 3 year Diploma in Radio and TV Technology/ Electronics/ Telecommunication/ Computer/ Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering or Domestic Appliances OR (10+2) or Intermediate or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics as selective subjects.
2. Head Constable (Radio Operator): 269 posts
Pay Scale: PB-1 of Rs.5200- 20200 with Grade Pay of Rs.2400 per month
Age Limit: [as on 7 July 2014]
Minimum: 18 years
Maximum: 23 years
Educational Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent and two year Industrial Training Institute Certificate in Radio and TV Technology/ Electronics OR (10+2) or Intermediate or equivalent with selective subject being Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
3. Head Constable (Fitter): 7 posts
Pay Scale: PB-1 of Rs.5200- 20200 with Grade Pay of Rs.2400 per month
Age Limit: [as on 7 July 2014]
Minimum: 18 years
Maximum: 25 years
Educational Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent and two years Industrial Training Certificate in Engine Fitter/ Diesel Mechanic/ Automobile/ Motor Mechanic OR (10+2) or Intermediate or equivalent with selective subject being Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
[Upper age limit for OBC category candidates is 28 years and for SC & ST category candidates is 30 years]
Selection Procedure: Selection of Candidates would be done on the basis of their performance in written examination, PST, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Dictation Test, Documentation, Personal Interview and Medical examination.
The entire selection process would be carried out in two-phases at the center selected by the candidates from the 15 authorized centers:
First Phase: Objective Type Written Examination.
Second Phase: Preliminary Screening, Physical Efficiency test (PET), Dictation Test, Verification of Original Documents, Personal Interview and Final Medical Examination.
Examination fees: Non-refundable examination fee of Rs.50 is to be paid through a crossed Demand Draft/ Indian Postal Order drawn in favour of ‘The Inspector General/ DIG/Comdt’ to whom the application is addressed payable at respective SBI/ Post Office.
SC/ ST/ BSF serving personnel and female candidates are exempted from payment of examination fees.
How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates should send their applications, in the prescribed format, along with self attested copies of all required certificates/ documents, 3 recent passport size photographs, application fee DD/ IPO, two self-addressed, stamped envelope with postal address of candidate neatly written on it to one of the 15 designated centers mentioned in the notification by post so as to reach the concerned recruitment center on or before 7 July 2014.
BSF serving pers will submit their applications to their respective unit/ HQ.
On the envelope carrying the application candidates should super-scribed “Application for the post of ASI (RM), HC (RO) and HC (Fitter)”,
Candidates willing to serve anywhere in India or abroad should only apply.
Candidates willing to apply for more than one post can apply for only two posts ASI-RM and HC-RO/ HC-Fitter. However, separate application form and fees will be required for each post.
