Ready and Gear up for the most important and toughest examination of India Combined Defence Service (CDS) which is conducted by UPSC (union public commission service). It is conducted twice in a year i.e. February and August. Currently, CDS written examination is dated on 23rd October 2016. Students must be taking lots of coaching from their mentors to crack this written paper and must be preparing really hard. 1.Knowledge, which is a must for all: Combined Defence Academy (CDS) examination cannot be cracked by studying overnight. It needs lots of preparation and determination prior to the examination.
•Concentrating in your coaching’s and understanding concepts will help you better.
•Knowing the syllabus is the most important with the analysis of each subject. Going through topics randomly will make it difficult/ confusions.
•Referring previous year question’s papers and practicing mock test will be beneficial.
2.Planning & Managing: Planning the topics according to its importance will help in written paper. It will give you the clear picture.
•Make a plan of your studies and follow the till end because without discipline it will not be possible.
•If you have sufficient time for the preparation choose your weak topics, first which are important from the examination point of view. By ignoring the important topics one may not get the cutoff or good scores.
•Solving Mock test papers and previous year’s question papers within the time limit will help in increasing speed and accuracy.
3.Referring Books: Considering various books, e-books, articles, blogs will help you in preparation. A Thorough study from your mentor/ teacher notes or coaching institute is an addition benefit. Discovering and exploring yourself more will not give you additional information so it’s better to treasure more.
4.Revising & Analyzing: Once topics have studied well revising is needed to Re- understand. Building challenges while self-assessing in your test will give you more learning and development of your skills. Analyzing in each mock test and practice paper gives the idea of improvement required.
5.Doubt Sessions: It often happens if someone having a problem in any topic people leaves it unattended for the last minute. It is advisable to all the students to clear your doubts from your books, teachers, and colleagues to become a master in that topic.
Subject wise tips:
•English: Reading the newspaper and finding new vocabulary word daily will build your dictionary. Understanding the grammar rules, practicing correct sentences, synonyms, antonyms will make you strong. Though daily practice is needed for this subject because again vocabulary cannot be build in 1 day (under time pressure).
•General Knowledge: Making a habit of reading Current affairs, magazines, newspapers ranging from economy to business trade, sports, art, literature will give you the overall knowledge(under time pressure).
•Mathematics: Making the list of important formulae, clearing concepts of theorems, practicing and solving questions will help (under time pressure).
