Online application process for IBPS PO 2016 will be closed on 13 August. Interested and eligible candidates have only 02 more days to take their first step into one of the highly competitive examinations of the nation.
IBPS PO exam 2016 will be jointly conducted by 20 participating banks. This year, a total of 8822 vacancies have been notified in these banks.
Candidates with a minimum educational qualification of graduation in any discipline are eligible to apply for the examination. The minimum and maximum age for IBPS PO Exam is 20 years and 30 years, respectively.
IBPS conducts a common examination to recruit candidates in all the participating banks. The examination will be held in two phases, preliminary and main. Candidates who will qualify in preliminary examination and shortlisted will have to appear for Main examination.
Only those candidates who qualify the main examination will subsequently be called for a Common Interview to be conducted by the Participating Organisations and coordinated by the Nodal Bank.

Among the various nationalized banks mentioned above for IBPS PO 2016 recruitment, Canara Bank has the highest number of seats vacant counting to 2200 seats. The least number of seats vacant are 158 for Punjab & Sind Bank. The vacancies are categorized as per the reservation class hence, the seats vacant are divided and segregated for Scheduled C aste/ Scheduled Tribe/ Other Backward Classes and Un-Reserved Categories.
The highest number of job opening for Un-Reserved category is also in Canara Bank counting to 1109 and the least opening counts to 56 for Punjab & Sind Bank. IBPO PO 2016 invited its application in 14 banks however, the six banks not recruiting this year are: Bank of Baroda, Bank of Maharashtra, Corporation Bank, Dena Bank, Indian Bank and Indian Overseas Bank.
Admit cards/ exam call letters for the preliminary examination will be available from October 2016. He prelims exam will be held on 16, 22 and 23 October. The main exam is likely to be held in November and the results will be announced the next month.
After the completion of interview in January/ February 2017, the provisional allotment will be completed within April 2017.
