Consultations launched by Government to Draft New Education Policy

    In order to draft the new education policy for the nation, the government has announced hosting of consultations in various levels around the nation from Monday. Through the consultations there would be suggestions and discussions that would take place at various levels in the hierarchy.

    The general people are being asked to take part in the formation of the policy by giving advertisements to the dailies all over the nation. People could participate and give their suggestions in the website www.mygov.in .

    The advertisement said, “Suggestions are invited on 33 themes identified for discussions. Consultations will start soon from villages, block and districts to state and national level. The objective is to formulate a new education policy for the country through an inclusive, participatory and holistic approach. “

    In a note in the website it further said, “The government would like to bring out a National Education Policy to meet the changing dynamics of the population’s requirement with regards to quality education, innovation and research.”

    Those who would like to be a part of the initiative and give away suggestions would need to first join a group in the website. In the group there would be tasks and discussions in which the tasks could be both online and on-ground. There would be discussions on various points in the website to make their ideas count. The whole process could take almost a year to get completed as there would be inputs from all the stakeholders, starting from children to parents from village to block level in the formation of the overall policy.
