Corporation Bank was established in the year 1904 with an initial capital of Rs 5000. This bank was nationalized in 1980 and has recorded Rs 1,67,000 Crore mark in business. This bank has about 3500 service outlets across the nation and is served by about 13,000 employees.

Corporation Bank became the second Public Sector Bank in India to come up with an IPO in 1997. It is also the first bank to have started Cash Management Services, Gold Banking, m-Commerce, "Online" approvals for Educational loans and 100% CBS Compliance.

The Bank has invited applications from eligible candidates for the post of Fire Officers to be filled in the year 2011. Mentioned below are the details for the same.

Name of the post: Fire Officers

Total Number of Vacancies: 1 seat (General category)

Age Limit: 25 years of age (min) and 35 years of age (max) as on 31 March 2011

Educational qualification: BE (Fire) or External Sub Officers Course or Divisional Officers Course from National Fire Service College, Nagpur.

Experience: In the case of BE (Fire) experience is not required. In other cases a minimum of 5 years of experience as Station Officer or equivalent post in City Fire Brigade or State Fire Station or in charge of Fire Office in an industry. Candidate should have knowledge of Hydrant System, Fire Detection System, Sprinkler System, and Disaster Management

Important Dates:

a) Opening date for online registration: 8 March 2011

b) Closing date for online registration: 8 April 2011

c) Modification in Online application can be made upto: 10 April 2011

Pay scale: Rs 19400-700/1-20100-800/10-28100 (CTC Rs 5.25 lakh)

DA, CA, HRA will be payable as per rules depending upon the place of posting. Medical Aid, LTC, Pension, Gratuity, Conveyance will be admissible as per Bank rules.

Probation Period: One year after joining failing which the officer shall be liable to pay to the bank a sum of Rs 50000 and 3 months notice period.

Place of posting: Mangalore

Application Fee: The fee to be paid is Rs 300.

Selection procedure: All the eligible candidates have to appear for Group Discussion conducted by the Bank. The candidates will be informed of date and venue of GD by e-mail only. No hard copy will be sent by post.
