Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) declared list of selected candidates for for CSIR Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Fellowships for the year 2013. A total of 33 candidates have been selected as SPM Fellows for pursuing doctoral degree (PhD) with a special fellowship in CSIR Labs/other specialized R & D institutions / universities.

The selected candidates will be paid Rs20000 as stipend every month along with HRA (for the first two years of the fellowship). Besides this, the SPM Fellows will also be paid a Contingency grant of Rs70000 per annum. The stipend can be raised from third year to Rs 24000 + HRA per month on the basis of satisfactory performance in the interview.
Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Fellowships are bestowed on candidates who are toppers of CSIR-UGC JRF (NET) Exams and is awarded to observe the birth centenary year (2000) of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, the first Vice-President of CSIR in the Independent India.
